STAFF AND EMPLOYMENT
Below is a list and description of Camp On Wheels staff positions. Counselor positions are now available. If interested, please email a resume with references to apply@CampOnWheels.net .
Associate Directors:   
Description:

  1. Must have a background in education or child development
  2. 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday
  3. Must be able to work every week of camp
  4. Must complete pre-camp training
  5. Must pass the state required sexual abuse awareness training.
  6. Must submit a resume with references
  7. All admission to locations visited paid for.
  8. Paid a weekly rate.

Responsibilities:

  1. Meet and greet campers and their parents each morning
  2. Manage transportation and ensure all camp procedures are followed
  3. Manage counselors
  4. Daily activity management and duty assignments
  5. Ensure the enjoyment of camp for every camper
  6. Submit end of day reports

Counselors:
Description:

  1. 18 years or older with a valid ID
  2. 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday
  3. Must complete pre-camp training
  4. Must pass the state required sexual abuse awareness training.
  5. Must submit a resume with references
  6. All admission to locations visited paid for.
  7. Paid a weekly rate.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assigned a group of 10 campers
  2. Daily checklist completion
  3. Actively monitor group
  4. Monitor group during transit
  5. Ensure the enjoyment of camp for every camper
  6. Submit end of day reports

Employee Guidelines:

  1. Be punctual
  2. Interact with the campers at all times and attend to their needs
  3. Never leave campers unattended
  4. Get to know all the campers, not just your assigned group
  5. Wear Camp On Wheels shirt and appropriate shorts or pants unless in swim gear. Flip-flops only on water days.
  6. Modest swim wear only; 1 piece swimsuits for females, shorts for males
  7. No personal calls while on duty
  8. No smoking
  9. Inappropriate or negative language will not be tolerated

Camp On Wheels reserves the right to terminate employees for any reason. Not following employee guidelines is grounds for dismissal. Stealing, inappropriate physical contact, sharing inappropriate stories, allowing campers to purchase inappropriate items, arriving under the influence or partaking in drugs or alcohol while at work, or not showing up for work are examples of behavior that will result in immediate termination.
Employee emergencies that do not allow you to come to work must be communicated to the camp director as soon as they occur.
