Educated to Provide Proven Solutions

“My extensive educational background in both psychology and pastoral counseling allows me to provide a nurturing environment that makes it easier for you to talk about yourself. Learning about you helps me create the environment and treatment that will get you back into the life you want to be living.”

Utilizing the Most Current Techniques

“I continually upgrade my education to provide you with the easiest and most effective solutions available. For example, using Trauma Resolution Therapy, I can help you resolve many of the conflicts that place unreasonable and often suffocating restrictions on your progress.”

The Consummate Professional

“It takes a great deal of courage to ask for help, and a strong commitment is required to stick with a program until you experience results. I pledge to respect your commitment and match it by maintaining or exceeding the top standards within my profession. By continually surpassing the recommended continuing education requirements, I am able to offer you the most current and effective approaches in my field.”

My Philosophy

Solutions-Oriented Counseling

At the outset of a counseling relationship, the most important gift I can give my clients is hope. Without discounting the negative impact their situations may have produced, I take a positive, proactive approach that focuses on solutions. Once a person becomes invested in the solution, rather than the problem, they are able to make rapid progress.

No Failures, Just Fedback

My motto is, “No failures, just feedback.” This helps a client focus on what can be learned from their past, rather than allowing it to continue to color their future. One of my greatest pleasures come from seeing a person make this mental shift, and observing the transformation as they realize that virtually any obstacle can be overcome.

Possibilities, not Limitations

For those struggling with depression or low self-esteem, I help them see their possibilities, rather than their limitations. Together, we work on uncovering and tapping into inner resources they might not have known they possessed. We then create an action plan focused on developing their strengths, rather than making concessions to their weaknesses.

A Safe Environment

All of this is accomplished in a pleasant, comfortable setting that allows clients to feel safe and listened to. This nurturing environment encourages open communication and creates a counselor/client bond of understanding and mutual respect.

Spiritual Support

My pastoral background allows me to provide spiritual support and guidance in addition to clinical services. The vision statement for my practice is to “Help others become what God wants them to be.”
